Mastering Single Show

Everything you need to know about creating high-fidelity, cinematic presentations with Markdown.

Quick Start Guide

Single Show is designed as a "content-first" presentation engine. Unlike traditional tools where you spend hours dragging boxes, here you simply write. Your presentation follows the Markdown standard, which is a lightweight way to format text with symbols.

  • Write: Type your content in the main editor.
  • Separate: Use three dashes --- on their own line to create a new slide.
  • Preview: Watch the mini-screen on the right to see your design hydrate in real-time.
  • Present: Click "Present Now" to go fullscreen with high-fidelity transitions.

Single Show also supports GitHub Flavored Markdown (GFM), including tables and code blocks with syntax highlighting.

Why Choose Markdown for Presentations?

Traditional presentation software often distracts the speaker with complex UI and layout decisions. Single Show flips the script by using a declarative approach. By writing in Markdown, you ensure that your message remains the central focus. Our "Cinematic Core" animation engine then takes your raw text and applies expert-level design principles, typography, and motion physics automatically.

This allows for incredible speed. A professional 10-slide deck can be prepared in minutes rather than hours. Furthermore, because your content is stored as plain text, it is lightweight, portable, and perfectly compatible with version control systems like Git.

Advanced Customization & Theming

Our Theme Studio (located in the right sidebar) allows you to swap your presentation's "DNA" instantly. Choose from over 15+ pre-built cinematic themes, or tweak individual variables like:

Typography

Adjust heading scales, body fonts, and line heights to match your brand's voice.

Animation Easing

Control the "feel" of transitions, from snappy and professional to smooth and atmospheric.

Best Practices for a Stunning Deck

  1. Keep it Concise: Limit each slide to 3-5 main points. Use sub-headers for organization.
  2. Leverage White Space: Don't crowd your slides. Single Show's layout algorithm works best when the content has room to breathe.
  3. Use "Reveal Step-by-Step": Turn this on in the Animation settings to keep your audience focused on what you are currently saying.
  4. High-Contrast Themes: For dark rooms, use "Aurora Nights" or "Midnight Blue". For bright rooms, "Serene Cloud" or "Glass Morphism" work best.
